Jan Luley is one of Europe's most profiled jazz pianists in the genres of classic jazz and blues. He studied jazz piano in Arnhem, Netherlands, and honed his skills with pianists in New Orleans, where he has been closely connected to the music scene for over three decades and has found his musical home.
Luley combines classical jazz, mainstream, blues, and Creole music with contemporary listening and playing habits, creating a distinctive musical language that he himself describes as “Contemporary New Orleans Style Piano.”

PIANO DUO

The renowed piano duo, which has been together for a long time and knows each other musically, will perform romantic music for four hands. While a piano solo evening can be compared to a symphony concert for piano, the piano repertoire for four hands sounds like a magnificent combined palette of all genres, the colors and shades of which are doubly powerful. This way, a piano evening of romantic music becomes an extraordinary fullness of feelings and emotions, where the powerful is even more powerful and fragile, and the evening even more delicate and pastel.

Internationally recognized piano virtuoso, devoted interpreter of Estonian classical music heritage and senior piano lecturer at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theater Sten Lassmann will perform an extensive romantic piano evening at Holdre Castle on October 12. The program includes the most well-known works of the classical repertoire, Bach's "Italian Concerto" and Beethoven's "Appassionata", the passionate and singing piano sonata of Artur Lemba, Chopin's beloved First Ballade, and the most heartbreaking works of the romantic piano repertoire, Liszt's "Mephisto Waltz" and Balakirev's "Islamei".
